Even though it’s great for us adults to have fun for Halloween and do things like go to haunted houses, we can’t forget that Halloween is actually for the kids!  Have you found any fun activities for the kids to do arond Shawnee this month?  If you need a good idea, we’ve got a place for you to visit that’s only 20 minutes from Hampton Woods Apartments.

Over this weekend (Oct. 22-23) and the next (Oct. 29-30) The Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead (13800 Switzer Road, Overland Park, KS 66221) is hosting their “Night of the Living Farm” event.  Old-fashioned lanterns and carved pumpkins will lead costumed trick-or-treaters through pathways of graves and ghouls.

From 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., families with children can participate in activities, such as a flashlight scavenger hunt, a haunted horse-drawn hayride, a tractor pulled wagon ride (for little trick-or-treaters) and a marshmallow roast/campfire.  There will also be food items like cider and caramel apples for sale!

Tickets can be purchase for $7 online or for $8 at the gate.
