On Saturday night, I went with my family to Panzon’s at 87th and Lackman for my 30th Birthday Party. Let me start off by saying that my family is HUGE. We had a group of 22 people on the night before Valentine’s Day. We were concerned about finding anywhere that could get us in. Panzon’s was more than accomodating. They set us up in a downstairs corner of a room…and it was OUR CORNER. We even had a table for the cake and the presents. And in an age where it’s not uncommon to enter a restaurant and feel like the servers and management are seriously disappointed that you happen to be entering their dining facility and interrupting their gossip-time, Panzon’s seemed warm and genuinely happy to see us.
We started off with pitchers of margaritas, tecate, dos equis and diet cokes! Their margaritas were exceptional and they were heavy on the salt on the rims of the glasses which I LOVE. Their salsa is perfect. Just a bit of a kick…and it’s the pureed kind. Not chunky. Good for kids (and me).
However, their guacamole is loaded with avocado chunks and vegetables. It’s great…but I would prefer if it was just a bit spicier.
For my meal, I ordered the vegetable quesadillas which were loaded with zucchini, squash, carrots, green peppers, cheese, etc…They came with sour cream, guacamole
and more salsa. They were delicious.
All in all…Panzon’s is warm, friendly and the margaritas are delicious. The staff really enhanced our experience and the amount of the bill? It’s easy on your wallet.
Here is their address, phone number and website if any of you choose to make your Monday a Margarita Monday or your Tuesday a Taco Tuesday. Maybe sometime we could have a resident event at Panzon’s?
Let me know what you guys think of Panzon’s…and if you’ve never been, be sure to try it out.
